Please consider the following instructions in order to use the ARCWAY Cockpit 3.2 requirement specification template in projects created with older Cockpit versions: PlaceholdersThe new requirement specification template uses placeholders in the project navigator in order to provide more flexibility in the displaying and sorting of information. In the ARCWAY Cockpit 3.2 requirement specification, requirements are only displayed if a corresponding stakeholder exists. In order to display the requirements of, for example, the root requirement set "Functional Requirements", a folder named "[Functional Requirements]" will have to be created in the project navigator. Further placeholders are used in order to display specific information. These placeholders must be created as well, if the according information should be included in the specification. These are the placeholders that can be added manually:
The CarPart 3.2 ReadMe contains a description of how to use placeholders. Inclusion of Custom Properties in RequirementsThe Cockpit 3.2 requirement module has a reduced number of default properties. These formerly given properties are converted into custom properties. In order to have these converted properties included in the Cockpit 3.2 requirement specification output, there must be a one-time manual activation:
1. Select Project-->Properties-->Administrate custom properties-->Requirements-->Requirement: Now, you see a list of the custom properties. All of these properties have the attribute "fixed" (stated in brackets). In order to activate these fixed properties for report output, they must be converted into custom properties:
2. Click on the property which shall be converted and select "Convert fixed property". We advise you to delete unnecessary information from the ID in order to keep it as clear as possible. In this case, the ID can be reduced to "initiator": Repeat this procedure with every fixed property destined to be converted into a custom property.
The conversion is expressed in the report as follows: 1. Report created with the 3.1 report template:
2. Report created with the 3.2 report template before the conversion of the property "Initiator":
3. Report created with the 3.2 report template after the conversion of the property "initiator":
